A modern, functional space for Carrington Dean
Carrington Dean, a leading debt solutions provider, recently approached us to refurbish and reconfigure two floors of their Glasgow office. They needed a modern, functional space that reflected their evolving brand and catered to their operational needs. Our team at Amos Beech was excited to take on the challenge, focusing on sustainability, cost-efficiency, and design excellence.
Sustainable Design with Existing Furniture
To manage costs and minimise waste, we worked extensively with Carrington Dean’s existing furniture. By repurposing and integrating these pieces into the new design, we were able to deliver a fresh look while maintaining a commitment to sustainability.
There was chosen for an angled desk layout, to create space between the tea prep/copier wall and the desk users sitting next to it. This gives more privacy and reduces distraction. It also allows the desks to be in the Team groups by fitting a bank of ten desks between the column and the meeting room corner. An aesthetic benefit is that the space feels less like a classroom. The carpet pattern followed, which leads you into the room and towards the feature back wall.

Key Office Refurbishment Design Elements
The project encompassed a range of upgrades to bring the office in line with Carrington Dean’s new branding:
New Flooring: We installed carpet tiles chosen to complement the updated colour scheme and improve the office's acoustics and comfort.
Decoration: Fresh coats of paint and updated finishes were applied throughout, aligning with Carrington Dean's brand colours and enhancing the overall aesthetic.
Feature Wall Panelling: We introduced striking acoustic feature walls that tie in beautifully with the carpet colours, adding depth and visual interest to the space.
Electrical Works: We carried out electrical modifications to accommodate the new furniture locations, ensuring seamless integration with the existing infrastructure.
New Collaboration Furniture: We added new pieces designed for collaboration, fostering a dynamic environment conducive to teamwork and innovation.
The Result:
One of the most notable transformations is the feature wall panelling, which works in harmony with the new flooring to create a cohesive, modern look. This, combined with the refreshed decoration, has significantly uplifted the space, making it more vibrant and engaging for the Carrington Dean team.
Our holistic approach ensured that every aspect of the refurbishment met Carrington Dean’s needs while reflecting their brand identity. The result is a revitalised workspace that not only looks impressive but also functions efficiently, providing an inspiring environment for their employees.

Merging two properties into one new office space
Newton Property Management offers factoring services for homeowners and developers across Scotland. Newton approached Amos Beech to assist them with what was going to be a move to larger premises. Two properties were up for consideration and the Strategy & Design team helped them identify which would be the best option for the needs of the business.
Joining two properties
When the adjacent property to their existing office became available, a third option was brought into the mix and ultimately became the best option. Amos Beech worked with Newton Property to design a new interior that literally joined the two properties and merged them into one new office space.
Crucial to the success of the project was the new training/break-out space that allows the business to conduct in-house training events for their staff as well as providing a vibrant centrepiece to the space where staff can informally meet, take a break and socialise.
Newton rebranded as a company, and has used a mixture of illustrations which focus on their communities and the services that they provide. They are using shapes and colours to bring this to life. So branding was important to Newton Property and the Interior Design team worked with them to deliver an interior that reflects the firms values. First impressions count and the new reception area provides a warm welcome as well as an obvious sense of arrival at Newton Property:

Other areas of expertise included providing a better solution for the main boardroom and the AV system. Previously, the acoustics and the room layout meant that joining meetings virtually was difficult, particularly being able to hear what was being said. Working with our acoustics partner, Amos Beech provided a cost effective and practical solution to the problem and improved the situation dramatically.
Delivering a project of this nature whilst maintaining a working office environment for the client is always a challenge but as always the Project & Site Management teams ensured a safe way of achieving this on time and in budget.

Office redesign for Trainline Edinburgh & Barcelona
Trainline is Europe’s leading train and coach app. Trainline aims to bring together all rail, coach and other travel services into one simple experience and give people smart, real-time travel info on the go.
Trainline approached Amos Beech with the urgent need to accommodate more staff to their call centre area within the existing office. The first phase of the ongoing refurbishment project is the major re-design of the staff kitchen and breakout space which did not meet the client’s needs.

Phase 1
The Edinburgh Trainline offices are situated at Tanfield, an established commercial location for central Edinburgh.
With the Trainline business expanding at such a fast pace, time was of the essence to create a stunning design that both reflected the brand and met the practical needs, both in terms of facilities but also to the right furniture for the dining and lounge spaces.

Corporate kitchen design and fit out
The kitchen itself is a fully integrated self-service zone for staff including built-in microwaves, dishwashers, and larder fridges plus water points and a separate coffee area exclusively for drinks. A separate hand washing sink was incorporated late-on in the process as fit-out commenced during the current Covid-19 pandemic.
The space doubles as an area perfectly suited to host trainline’s multiple social events.
The result is a large, open practical facility; welcoming and verging on the current “resimercial” design trend – the merging of a residential approach with commercial interior design.
The palette is modern and muted bringing in soft tones and biophilia to enhance the comfortable nuance to the space.
Phase 2
In addition to the initial kitchen and breakout space we have refurbished the meeting room and reception area. Whilst we’re there we also had a look at how the kitchen and breakout area had evolved after the first few years of use:
Trainline Barcelona Office
After completing multiple successful projects for Trainline in the UK, Amos Beech was asked to support their Barcelona project. After outgrowing their original office space, they took the leap (and obvious upgrade) to a fantastic space right under the nose of the historic landmark, Sagrada Familia.
This was a wonderful project to work on. Bringing to life a vibrant space within a quintessentially Barcelona building right next door to one of the most well-known landmarks in Europe.
This space was all about collaboration and creativity and the design brief was simple – bring in colour, biophilia and make sure everybody knows this is a Trainline office. The exciting bits? Well, check out the digital split flap departure board in the games and social area. This is used to make important company announcements or show information on team events. The Amos Beech team also designed ‘train’ graphics which brought to life the many glass partitions throughout the space. As an added perk for Trainline staff, there is also a bar with a beer tap!
