For Kit-Har, remote Scottish Islands and Yoga are 2 things that go together well – if you have ever had the favour and pleasure of visiting even only one of them, you would understand. There is something immensely humbling yet inspiring about these beautiful places and the deep sense of inner calm you get goes hand in hand with Yoga. This isn’t meant to be a travel brochure piece but hey….get the map book out and lets plan a trip!
At work this inner drive means that Kit-Har sets herself high standards. To be better than best every time and always improving. Oh, and given her years of experience with McKellars she can even out anorak Sam James with furniture knowledge!
A wonderful Granny-Ma at Kit-Hars second home in Tai Po (93 years young at time of writing) provides her with so much inspiration. Family times are the best times and this along with her mums traditional home cooking and her hubbies special ‘homemade steak pie and potato wedges’ brings so much originality to her work here.
There is an interesting trend developing at Amos Beech – more and more of us seem to be willing to put ourselves through pain barriers to achieve personal fitness goals and Kit-Har is no exception – running and cycling events are on the calendar and training is taken very seriously.
So whilst there is a very professional and serious approach to design, it comes with a sense of humour, borne out by a favourite quote by Milton Glaser (American graphic designer for 'I love NY' logo):
"There are three responses to a piece of design – Yes, No and Wow!’…..we say Wow!"
