Emma looks after the operations side of the business with verve and aplomb.
She has a keen interest in all things culinary, food is a pretty major thing for her, with a predilection for Mediterranean cuisine. Italian food attracts her the most having visited the country and experienced their skill of creating the most incredible pizzas, pasta, salami dishes and ice-cream.
Definitely not being the greatest morning person, an animal skill Emma feels she needs to have less of is that of a nocturnal hamster! She finds it easy to stay awake till the late hours but rising in the early hours, not so easy! However, a latte coffee assists greatly in the waking up process.
As a child Emma’s family owned two rabbits named Floppy and Loppy… they also owned a tawny owl for a time (it was a baby tawny when her dad found it had fallen out of its nest in some woods, he rescued it and it became our pet) until it made too much noise in the neighbourhood! Now they are sensible and just own a couple of fish which are fairly low maintenance.
Outside of work Emma continues to be busy but is most likely to relax with friends and a nice gin. Given the chance, Emma would love nothing better than to visit the Maldives but a return visit to Venice or indeed any other part of Italy wouldn’t go amiss! Emma firmly supports the new gin craze and is always looking to try a new gin. She finds it difficult to name a favourite but always enjoys one from the Whitley Neil selection or St Andrew’s Eden Mill.
Emma has a keen sense of humour and her most well known quote since a child belongs to her granny but has made its way through to the next generation. When her family’s ‘nocturnal-ness’ kicks in, their mum will say:
‘It won’t be this in the morning!’ and how true is that!
