Amos Beech – Business Development associate Director

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity to join us as Business Development Manager. You’ll be building executive and senior stakeholder relationships to identify and win opportunities for new business growth. You will use existing networks to engage and identify large opportunities (typically £500k - £1m). 

As a workplace consultancy and commercial interiors company, Amos Beech provide an end-to-end service from initial evaluation through to final handover of the completed project stopping at all points in between, including workplace design, office refurbishment, furniture supply and installation.  

As Business Development Manager, you’ll engage directly with senior stakeholders to generate and own a pipeline of qualified leads, continuously working your network to identify new opportunities.

To be considered for this role, you should have proven experience in a senior business development role and be able to demonstrate an outstanding conversion rate. You’ll be well networked with an evident track record developing relationships.

You’ll have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a focus on organisation, and enhanced multitasking abilities. B2B sales, marketing and strategic analysis are important aspects of the position, along with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close deals. You’ll have experience researching market trends, targeting relationships and using proven methods to develop our business strategy while retaining marketing partners.

In addition, you’ll be degree educated, and have the ability to work in collaboration across the business. Experience across multi sectors is preferable. We are based in Falkirk, and travel across Scotland will be required.

Key Responsibilities
 

Business Development Management:
 

Deliver BD turnover growth in line with an agreed Business plan

  • Develop and support outbound enterprise sales opportunities that lead to pitches, engagement, relationship building & growth in the new business pipeline that converts to design & build projects

  • Liaise with the Design Team and Project Managers in the identification of opportunities and the management of prospects in Central Belt Scotland

  • Collaborate with Pitch & marketing team to develop collateral and messaging

  • Build competitor intelligence, develop cross service line expertise and form strategic relationships

  • Deploy and monitor sales management processes to ensure consistent and efficient activity & pipeline reporting

  • Client centric: ensure continuous improvement in experiences through development of best practice

  • Monitor lead generation, pipeline, win/loss information, negotiations and other KPI’s

 
Market Figurehead:
 

  • Establish links and attend forums that are market relevant

  • Attendance and participation at industry events

  • Build broad networks across target client profiles and the property sector

 
Executing Strategy and Objectives:
 

  • Work with Senior Management Team in setting Business Development targets and objectives

  • Assist on an annual BD Business Plan

  • Monitor and report on performance against the Business Plan regularly during the year

  • Oversee deployment of thought leadership within core accounts and targets

  • Monitor market trends, industry issues and competitive intelligence

  • Own and initiate key relationships in the market

 
Person Specification/Requirements
 

  • Strong track record of delivery in business development

  • Able to demonstrate strong area knowledge and expertise

  • Demonstrate ability to influence client’s decision making and strategy

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Highly motivated to deliver innovation and change

  • Ability to collaborate across internal networks to drive client results

  • Self-starter

  • Commercially focussed, targeting development and impact aligned to business growth plan

  • Experience of using Pipedrive CRM or similar is preferred
